تصوف حاصل کرنے کے لئیے کسی کامل ولی اللہ کی معیت میں ذکر الٰہی پر دوام کرنا پڑتا ہے۔ اکثر جہلاء بلکہ دین دار لوگ بھی یہ سمجھتے ہیں کہ تصوف جیسی عظیم نعمت بغیر کچھ کئیے حاصل ہو جاتی ہے۔ یا پھر نماز روزہ سے تزکیہ ہو جاتا ہے۔ جبکہ حقیقت یہ ہے کے فقہ، کلام، تفسیر، اور دین کے دیگر شعبہ جات کی طرح تصوف کا بھی ایک واضح اور مکمل نصاب ہے۔

Tasawwuf is Not Just a Theory

"Ihsan or Tasawwuf is not just the name for a theoretical knowledge. Therefore, reading about it will not make a person cognizant about Allah. Just as knowing about the rules of Namaz, Roza and Hajj does not make him (or her) a Namazi, Saaim, or Haji. These are actions, which have to be performed, not merely learned about."

Explanation: Tasawwuf is acquired through a consistent practice of Zikr-Allah under the guidance of an accomplished spiritual teacher. Most of commoners and even religious people believe that Tasawwuf or Ihsan is achieved without doing anything. They think it is achieved through Namaz or other worships. However, in reality Tasawwuf also has a proper Syllabus, just like Fiqah, Kalaam, Tafseer, and other departments of Islamic knowledge.
